Zhongxin International City: Innovative Black and White Interior Design

An Interior Design Project by Taowujia Group

The project, covering an area of 170 square meters, offers a decoration scheme tailored to a family of three. The designers aimed to address the challenge of sacrificing design style or storage space in long-term home decoration. By integrating the space and using cupboards as partitions, they achieved a balance between spaciousness and simplicity, providing a pure and minimalistic living experience.

The black and white background of the design not only creates a sense of space but also serves as a canvas to highlight other colored embellishments. This approach enriches the overall visual effect and prevents monotony. Inspired by the overlapped space of Chinese gardens, the project combines modern elements with traditional influences, resulting in a harmonious and well-balanced aesthetic.

The use of high-quality materials further enhances the design. Natural marble and slate adorn the walls, while the activity area features CIMIC tiles and the bedroom boasts a solid wood floor. The bathroom showcases Yuanjin gray marble for both the walls and floor. The furniture incorporates a carbon steel structure, saddle leather, top layer calf leather, and 18K gold-plated stainless steel, adding a touch of luxury to the space. Imported Pandora luxury stone and 18K gold-plated stainless steel are used for the tea tables, while the dining tables feature imported slate and acrylic. Desks are crafted from Japanese oak and acrylic, combining functionality and elegance.

The redesign of the unit layout focused on creating a more open and flexible living space. By removing doors and integrating public areas, the designers reduced barriers to vision and optimized circulation. The addition of ample cupboards facilitates organization and storage, ensuring a tidy and clutter-free environment.

The Zhongxin International City project was launched in Jinan, China, in May 2021. The preliminary work was completed in September 2021, and the interior decoration was finished in November 2021, delivering a stunning and functional space to the owners.

This innovative black and white interior design has been recognized for its excellence. The project was awarded the Bronze A' Design Award in the Interior Space, Retail, and Exhibition Design category in 2022. This prestigious award acknowledges designs that demonstrate creativity, resourcefulness, and a commitment to improving quality of life through art, science, design, and technology.
